Samburu Mission: Transforming Lives in Wamba
In June 2020, a passionate team from PreachOut International embarked on a life-changing mission to the Samburu Nation, one of Kenya’s least reached areas. For nearly two months, the team, led by Evangelist Timothy Wahinya, brought the message of hope and salvation to the people of Wamba, transforming lives in remarkable ways.
Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and deep-rooted cultural traditions, the mission team pressed on with determination. Over 1,050 souls were won to Christ, with many experiencing the power of God through miraculous healings, deliverance from addictions, and the restoration of broken families. The team’s commitment to discipleship ensured that new believers were nurtured in their faith, with over 500 receiving consistent follow-up.

The mission wasn’t just about numbers; it was about transforming communities. In a region plagued by illicit brews, early marriages, and spiritual darkness, the light of the Gospel brought hope and change. The team planted three new churches, held vibrant fellowships, and trained local leaders to continue the work. Their efforts were not just about evangelism but also about building a foundation for long-term transformation in Samburu.
However, the mission was not without its challenges. The team faced resistance from some locals, cultural barriers, and even the logistical difficulties of ministering in remote areas. Yet, they remained undeterred, relying on prayer, fasting, and the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome every obstacle.
As the mission concluded in August, the impact of their work was evident. New believers were eager to grow in their faith, communities were beginning to change, and the team left knowing they had planted seeds that would continue to bear fruit long after they had gone. The Samburu mission was a powerful testament to what God can do when His people step out in faith.
