Following the foundation laid during Reach Out 006, PreachOut International launched Reach Out 007 to continue ministering to the Karamajong community in Eastleigh. This mission aimed to deepen the connections previously established and disciple new believers while expanding the outreach to more members of this nomadic group.
Challenges Faced
The transient lifestyle of the Karamajong remained a hurdle, as many members frequently moved within the city in search of work. The team also faced competition for the community’s attention amidst Eastleigh’s bustling environment, where commercial activity often took precedence over spiritual matters. Limited access to safe meeting spaces for fellowship added to the logistical challenges.
How the Team Overcame the Challenges
By collaborating with local churches and securing a central meeting venue, the team created consistent gathering points for worship and teaching. They employed creative outreach strategies, including evening storytelling sessions and cultural performances, to draw in more individuals. Regular follow-ups ensured continuity, even for those who moved to other parts of the city.
Impact
Reach Out 007 saw notable progress, with many Karamajong members responding positively to the gospel. The mission led to the establishment of a regular fellowship group, which has become a foundation for discipleship and community support. The outreach also fostered stronger ties between PreachOut International and the local church network, ensuring sustainable spiritual growth for new believers.
The mission highlighted the importance of perseverance and innovation in reaching urban, nomadic communities. Reach Out 007 reinforced PreachOut International’s commitment to seeing every nation, tribe, and tongue transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ.
