In late 2022, PreachOut International ventured into Dadaab, home to one of the largest refugee camps in the world. Known for its diverse population fleeing conflict and hardship across East Africa, Dadaab presented a unique opportunity to bring hope to people longing for peace and purpose.
Amid the backdrop of humanitarian aid efforts, Reach Out 008 aimed to address the spiritual needs of this displaced population. The mission focused on fostering unity among the diverse groups within the camp, including Somalis, South Sudanese, and Ethiopians. Despite the complexities of navigating such a multicultural and transient community, the gospel message resonated deeply with many.

The mission faced challenges such as restricted access to certain areas, language barriers, and the trauma many residents carried. However, the team adapted by working closely with interpreters and local leaders to ensure clear communication and sensitivity to the camp’s dynamics.
By the end of the mission, countless individuals had encountered the love of Christ. The team organized prayer groups, Bible studies, and small fellowships, providing a spiritual anchor for those grappling with uncertainty. The seeds sown in Dadaab continue to grow, as local believers take up the mantle to disciple and support their communities.
Reach Out 008 was a powerful reminder that God’s love knows no borders and that even in the most challenging environments, His light shines the brightest.
